15 percent children out of schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: ASER

Fifteen percent children are out of schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as 85 percent children of age six-16 years are enrolled in public and private sector schools in the province, said Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2011 launched here on Wednesday.

KP teachers to get training for teaching in mother tongues

Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein has said that the government has decided to impart three-month training to teachers for teaching various subjects in mother tongues to children. Addressing the launching ceremony of Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2011 here in Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Wednesday, he said that textbooks in Pashto have been prepared and will be implemented in next 10 to 15 days.

Educational concerns: 85% children in K-P enrolled in schools, report

Even though Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has been ravaged by terrorism and floods in the recent past, a latest report, launched on Wednesday, suggests 85 per cent of children in the province are still enrolled in schools.

Children in KP village schools struggle

PESHAWAR: Around 60 per cent of grade II students in the rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s 14 districts cannot read texts in  Urdu or their mother tongue and over 70 per cent English text, says a survey.
